How do I get my full right click context menu back in Windows 11?
Windows introduced a strange thing in Windows 10/11. The context menu pushed a lot of options onto another context menu that you could only access via a “more…” link in the menu or “Shift+F10”. This made the paste operation either a 2 click option or you had to press the Shift+F10.
Here is a method to bring back the old FULL context menu. Please BE AWARE that this requires you to edit the Registry of your Windows PC. If you are not happy with this please do NOT ATTEMPT IT. Thanks.
How to Get Full Context Menus in Windows 11
* Open regedit. The easiest way is to hit Windows + R, enter regedit and hit Enter.
Navigate to `HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\CLSID\`
* Create a new registry key called `{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}` underneath `CLSID`.
You can create keys by right-clicking in the right window pane and selecting New->Key<br> Then entering the correct name for the folder.
* Create a new key called `InprocServer32` underneath `{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}`
* Open the `(Default)` key in `InprocServer32` and set its value to blank (highlight cell and press delete), then click OK.
You will notice that the Data which was originally "(value not set)" is now shown as blank.
* Close registry editor and reboot.
You will now see the classic-style context menu.
If you want to revert back to the default, limited context menu, delete the `InProc32 key`

How do I install The Paste as File Windows Utility?
- Download the paste as file software, and then run it under windows.
- Once you have installed the software you will see is an addition to the right click menu under windows (Paste as file).
- Copy something onto the clipboard in any way you like, go to a directory/folder and right click. Once you select paste as file you can paste in different formats (e.g. image, pdf, text, etc.)
Yes of course. Once you fill in your name and pay via Payal, we will send you your registration serial number. This may take up to 24 hours - it's still quite a manual process. We are looking to automate this a bit better in the future. If you order on a Friday you will NOT get your registration code until the Monday as we do not work weekends.
Once you have the registration code, go into “Settings”, then select “Help/About” and enter your registration details:
Can I convert a graphic in one format on the clipboard to another format?
Yes, once you have copied your graphic onto the clipboard (via a screen capture program or any other software), you can convert to another format (jpg, pcx, png, bmp, tga, gif, tif and pdf) by selecting the format when you paste the file using PasteAsFile.
PDF file support for plain text files, images and URLs.
What is the quickest way to paste using PasteAsFile?
Optional Popup Menu
This will allow you a faster way of saving your clipboard contents to a file.
When enabled you will get a popup menu after selecting PasteAsFile allowing you to choose the file type (based on your clipboard contents) and then save as the default file name.
Choose Paste As… to get the normal Paste As File dialog. Choose any other to save as that file type with the default file name.
Can I automatically add the date and time to the created filename?
Changing the default file name
You can change the default file name that shows in the dialog box of Paste As File.
The default file name is set to Clipboard_YYYYMMDD by default.
To change the file name, do a Paste As File to get the main dialog, then click on About/Options and then select: Options > Change default file name.
You can change this to whatever you want. You can also change the date/time format using the following:
- YYYY = Full year e.g. 2012
- YY = Two (2) digit year
- MMMM = Full name of month e.g. November
- MMM = Abbreviated month e.g. Nov
- MM = Month number e.g. 05
- DDDD = Full name of day e.g. Monday
- DDD = Abbreviated day e.g. Mon
- DD = Day number e.g. 11
- HH = 24 Hour time
- HHH = 12 Hour time
- NN = Minute (not MM as it is for Month)
- SS = Second
- AMPM = AM or PM based on current time
So for example you can change it to 'NewFile_YYYYMMDD_HHNNSS'
How do I Convert pasted text file to another format?
Convert plain text to…
You can choose to convert plain text to a few different types of web code:
- PHP
- HTML and
- Javascript
Before saving it to a file.
To do this, click on the About/Options > Convert plain text to… and then select the type.
You can only select one type at a time. To turn off, select the selected type again to uncheck.
Can I copy files and create a ZIP archive?
Dealing with files in the clipboard is the same as with text or images.
You will be shown the normal Paste As File dialog and given a choice of ZIP, 7z, TXT or [FOLDER].
Selecting ZIP or 7z will take the files in the clipboard and create an archive with the name and extension you supply. If you select TXT it will save a text file in the name you give it with details about the files (path\name, date, and size) as well as additional information for MP3 files (IDv2 and IDv3 tags).
If you choose [FOLDER] it will create a sub folder with the name you supply in the current folder and copy the files in the clipboard to that folder.
Can I copy formatted HTML and retain the html formatting in my pasted file?
Yes you will retain all the html code for the clipboard selection so that the file can be displayed in a web browser correctly. Images may be a problem, but the text will format correctly.
Formatted HTML: (copy text from the web and paste to HTML keeping the text formatting)
